The Metropolitan Boston EMS Council appoints Dr. William Tollefsen As the New Region IV Medical Director
The Metropolitan Boston EMS Council would like to welcome William (Will) Tollefsen, MD, MSc, MBA as the new Region IV Medical Director. Dr. Tollefsen is a board-certified emergency physician and board-eligible EMS physician with subspecialty training in EMS and Critical Care Transport. Dr. Tollefsen is the EMS Medical Director at South Shore Hospital, and an active member of the local EMS Community at all levels. Dr. Tollefsen’s clinical practice crosses the Region as he also maintains a teaching role as an attending physician at Massachusetts General Hospital.
For the past 13 years Dr. Tollefsen has developed and maintained relationships within EMS and Emergency Medicine in Region IV and throughout the State with multiple municipal services, hospitals and private providers. Dr. Tollefsen is a very energetic, grounded and dedicated physician to the patients, providers and the EMS system in Region IV and the Commonwealth.
It is a great pleasure to welcome Dr. Tollefsen as the Region IV Medical Director. We look forward to working with Dr. Tollefsen during this exciting time of transition for EMS.
